QPR to make it two wins out of two in the Championship
Coventry City vs QPR - 18/09/2020
3022
On Friday night Coventry City host QPR at St Andrews in the Championship, as the home side look to pick up their first win back in the second tier of the English top-flight.
Coventry City finished last season as League One champions. However, the Sky Blues kicked off their Championship campaign with a 2-1 defeat at Bristol City. In truth, the game was difficult one for Mark Robins team to face on their return to the second tier.
They followed that defeat against the Robins by exiting the Carabao Cup at the second round stage, losing on penalties against Gillingham after a 1-1 draw.
Coventry experienced a nightmare campaign in their last spell of Championship football, which was way back in 2012. They failed to win in their final seven games in the second tier.
Everybody connected with the Midlands club will be hoping that their current spell in the Championship is a more fruitful one.
QPR finished 13th place in the table last season and kicked off the new league campaign with a creditable 2-0 home win over Nottingham Forest.
Rangers may even have challenged for a play-off spot if it were not for a slightly inconsistent run of form towards the end of the second-tier campaign last season. Despite that relatively inconsistent late-season run, the Hoops ended their league campaign with a four-game unbeaten run, consisting of two wins and two draws.
One facet of Coventry’s game that boss Robins will want to improve this season will be their away results, as the visitors have claimed just two wins from their last 13 matches on their travels in the Championship.
Forebet predicts that QPR will improve their away results slightly by recording a win in a low-scoring encounter.
