With all the major European leagues currently in pre-season, preparing for season 2020/21, the Scottish SPL is enjoying its time in the sun.

We have enjoyed just one round of the Scottish top-flight. One side hoping to continue their hundred per cent record this weekend is Hibernian, who face a trip to Livingston on Saturday afternoon.

The home side enjoyed a solid campaign last season, finishing fifth place in the table, only seven points outside the European spots in the curtailed SPL campaign. However, Gary Holt’s team opened their campaign with a disappointing 1-0 defeat at St. Mirren.

The poor form has just been a continuance of last season, as before the league was curtailed they had failed to win in four league games. The opening day defeat means that they have not won in their previous five league matches, having suffered three losses in the process.

However, their home form towards the end of last season in the SPL was strong, as they are now unbeaten in seven home games, having recorded five victories.

Hibs recorded a 2-1 home win against Kilmarnock on the opening weekend of the SPL campaign. The win ended a three-game winless streak in the Scottish top-flight. A second straight win would constitute a very good start to the season for Jack Ross’ team.

The visitors recent league matches have certainly not been short of goals in the SPL of late, as there have been over 2.5 goals scored in seven of their last eight games.

The team from the Scottish capital have been poor travellers in the top-flight, winning just two of their last eight away matches in the SPL, suffering five defeats in the process.

Forebet predicts that Hibernian will make it two straight league wins in the SPL by recording a victory in a high-scoring encounter.
