Cosenza and Pisa set to finish all-square
Cosenza Calcio vs AC Pisa - 24/07/2020
2467
There is still plenty left to decide in Italy’s Serie B, both at the top and bottom of the table with just three rounds of games remaining. Two of the teams still with something to play for Cosenza and Pisa meet on Friday night.
Cosenza’s time in Serie B seems to be running out, as they head into this clash four points from safety of the relegation play-offs with a number of teams in a better position to survive the drop. The home sides recent league form has been inconsistent. However, they have given themselves hope in the fight for survival in recent weeks with back-to-back wins over Pordenone and Perugia.
They have seemingly found their shooting boots a tad too late, as Cosenza have now scored at least two goals in five of their last seven league outings.
They had previous struggled to score goals as their league goal tally of 40 goals scored in 35 Serie B games suggests.
A record of just two wins from their last eight home matches in the Italian second tier has certainly not done much for their survival chances either.
While Cosenza are looking to remain in Serie B, Pisa are aiming for promotion via the play-offs. The visitors currently occupy the last play-off spot, but with a number of teams hot on their heels, the Nerazzurri cannot afford any slip-ups.
Luca D'Angelo’s team have been slightly inconsistent of late in the Italian second tier, but have been difficult to beat, losing just once in their last eight league matches. A second straight promotion for the visitors cannot be ruled out.
Pisa have struggled for victories on their travels of late in Serie B, as they have won just once in six away games in the Italian second tier.
Forebet predicts that this game will end in a low-scoring draw, which does neither team’s chances of achieving their goals much good.
