Watford host Norwich City in PL six-point fixture

Norwich City are seven points from relegation safety with 15 points left to play for this season. In spite of still being mathematically possible to save their season, manager Daniel Farke has conceded that the club are likely to go down.

Tuesday night sees the Canaries head to Vicarage Road to clash with Watford in a six-point fixture. Watford are one of the teams Norwich City are chasing.

The Hornets are just outside the relegation zone on 28 points, one point above 18th-placed Aston Villa. Watford are winless in five straight games with three straight matches finishing in losses.

Nigel Pearson’s team lost at the weekend to Chelsea 3-0 and were held scoreless for the second time in three games. Norwich City are also coming off of a weekend loss. The Canaries fell to Brighton 1-0 which was their fifth straight loss in the Premier League.

Watford went to Carrow Road and claimed a 2-0 win earlier this season thanks to goals from Gerard Deulofeu and Andre Gray. The goals came on either side of halftime as Watford won to nil.

The fixture also saw a sending off as Watford’s Christian Kabasele received a red card for a second bookable offence in the 65th minute. Six yellow cards were handed out in the match.

Watford have collected eight points from their last 16 available at Vicarage Road. They have scored nine times while allowing eight goals against.

Norwich City have taken just one point from their last six games on the road. Unbelievably, Norwich City have only scored one away goal over the course of their last six matches away from Carrow Road.

The Canaries have allowed opponents to score 14 times in those six away fixtures. Farke’s team have allowed 61 goals against in the league in total which is the Premier League’s second-worst mark.

Meanwhile, they have scored the fewest goals in the division (25). Norwich City have failed to score in eight of their last nine league matches.

Watford have scored the third-fewest goals in the Premier League (29). Meanwhile, they have allowed 52 goals in total. Tuesday night’s game at Carrow Road has the potential to be low scoring despite the teams’ poor defensive records.

Two of the last six games between Watford and Norwich City saw red cards handed out. Watford were on the receiving end the red cards on both occasions.

So, which of the two Premier League strugglers will get points in the race for survival? Will it be Watford or Norwich City?
