Leicester City will be looking for their first win since the restart when Crystal Palace visit the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Foxes were held to consecutive draws by relegation-strugglers Watford and Brighton before losing 2-1 to Everton last time out.
Two points from a possible nine since the restart mean that Leicester are in real danger of dropping out of the top four. They remain third, but with fourth-place Chelsea just one point behind, and Manchester United and Wolves three points shy, Leicester cannot afford anymore slip-ups.
The Foxes’ problems started long before the season was put on hold. Indeed, Brendan Rodgers’ side have only managed to win three of their 12 Premier League games in 2020.
Leicester ended a four-game winless run with a victory over Aston Villa just before the lay-off, and they will be hoping to end a three-game winless streak on Saturday.
Following three straight wins leading up to the stoppage, Crystal Palace extended their winning run to four games with a victory over Bournemouth in their first game back.
However, back-to-back defeats since then – against Liverpool (4-0) and Burnley (1-0) – have seen Palace drop out of the top half of the table. The Eagles are currently twelfth, although they are only two points off the top half.
Despite enjoying the lion’s share of the possession in their previous game and racking up a whopping 18 shots to Burnley’s eight, Palace failed to come away with anything to show for their efforts last time out.
It is no secret that Palace have struggled for goals all season. In fact, only bottom club Norwich have netted fewer Premier League goals this term.
Meanwhile, Leicester remain the division’s third-highest scorers, but their defensive record has taken a hit recently.
Looking at the team news, Leicester will be without Daniel Amartey and Ricardo Pereira on Saturday, with the latter expected to miss the remainder of the season due to injury.
Christian Benteke is nearing his return for Palace, but Martin Kelly, Jeffrey Schlupp, and James Tomkins remain long-term absentees for the Eagles.
Leicester have been woeful since the restart, but their quality should shine through against Crystal Palace. A much-needed victory is on the cards for the Foxes.
Forebet predicts that Leicester will score over 1.5 goals and keep a clean sheet on their way to victory.
