Hull and Charlton to finish all-square in vital relegation clash
Hull City vs Charlton Athletic - 20/06/2020
1441
There is still plenty left to decide in the Championship with nine gameweeks remaining. One of the big issues still very much in the balance is the fight for survival.
Two of the teams currently in the relegation battle Hull and Charlton meet at the KCOM Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The fight for survival is a tight one, as home side Hull are just two points above the visitors, who are in the relegation zone. There are also just two points between Charlton in 22nd place and Stoke City who occupy 17th position.
The home team have been in woeful form of late in the English second tier, failing to win in 11 league matches, suffering nine defeats in the process.
Recent poor defensive displays have plagued the Tigers, as they have conceded at least two goals in five of their previous six matches. Those poor performances at the back have contributed to five of their last six league games producing over 2.5 goals.
Home has offered Hull very little comfort of late, as they have lost six of their previous seven Championship games on home soil. They have also conceded at least two goals in five of those seven defeats at home.
Just like the home side, Charlton’s recent league form has not been great, as a 1-0 home defeat against relegation rivals Middlesbrough last time out means that they have now lost four of their previous five league games.
A lack of firepower has been the biggest factor in their recent poor form, as the Addicks have failed to score in four of their last five Championship outings. To say that Charlton were travel sick would be an understatement, as they have won once in their previous 15 league games on their travels.
Forebet predicts that this game will produce a low-scoring draw, which will do neither team much good in the fight for survival.
