West Ham and Wolves clash at London Stadium

There are four Premier League games taking place on Saturday, June 20, with West Ham United hosting Wolverhampton Wanderers at the London Stadium in the late afternoon kickoff.

West Ham return to action knowing they must continue to pick up points from now until the end of the season in order to avoid relegation.

The Hammers are one of three teams locked on 27 points and are perched just above the drop zone with only a quarter of the campaign remaining.

David Moyes’ side haven’t struggled to score goals this term. In fact, no team has netted more in the current bottom eight.

However, only three clubs have a poorer defensive record than West Ham in the Premier League this season, so the London club must tighten things up at the back.

Having only managed to win one of their previous nine league games, with six defeats coming during that period, it’s fair to say that West Ham are in trouble.

On the other hand, Wolves have enjoyed a superb season up to now, and Nuno Espirito Santo’s men find themselves just five points shy of the Champions League places.

Only league leaders Liverpool have lost fewer Premier League games than Wolves this term, and that statistic speaks volumes about the team’s resilience.

Wolves were unbeaten in their five games leading up to the break, including a victory over Spurs and draws with Man Utd and Leicester.

The Wanderers have only lost four of their previous 24 top-flight games and are also on course to go deep into the Europa League when the campaign resumes.

A favourable run of fixtures sees Wolves face three of the current bottom five in their next three games, so Nuno’s side could be pushing for a top-four spot in the coming weeks.

Wolves’ 2-0 victory in the reverse fixture back in December means Nuno’s men have claimed three straight wins over West Ham. The recent head-to-head record certainly favours Wolves.

The three-month lay-off means that neither side has any injury concerns heading into Saturday’s clash. Both managers have a fully-fit squad to choose from.

Both sides will be rusty following the break, but Wolves have been miles better than West Ham throughout the 2019/20 campaign, so the away team should come out on top here.

Forebet predicts that both teams will score. However, Wolves have enough quality to claim all three points.
