Hertha expected to overcome Frankfurt

Hertha Berlin welcome Eintracht Frankfurt to Olympiastadion on Saturday afternoon, as both sides aim to finish the 2019/20 Bundesliga season on a high.

With just four games remaining this term, Hertha find themselves 9th – three points ahead of 11th-place Frankfurt.

Hertha have been in excellent form since the break. New boss Bruno Labbadia has helped the capital club climb up the table, with three wins and one defeat in their previous five games.

Following victories over Hoffenheim, Union, and Augsburg, along with an impressive draw against Leipzig, Hertha finally lost their first game under Labbadia last weekend.

Hertha battled hard against 2nd-place Borussia Dortmund last time out, but despite creating a few decent chances, they eventually lost 1-0.

Labbadia’s side still have an outside chance of qualifying for next season’s Europa League, although they would probably have to win all of their remaining games in order to finish 7th.

On the other hand, Frankfurt have been extremely inconsistent since the campaign resumed. Sure, they may be clear of relegation trouble now. But a mid-table finish is the best they can hope for.

After being thrashed by Bayern Munich, Eintracht claimed a 3-3 draw with Freiburg before securing back-to-back victories over Wolfsburg and Werder Bremen.

However, a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Mainz last time out proved that manager Adi Hutter has plenty of work to do.

Despite enjoying 61% possession against Mainz last weekend, Frankfurt failed to register a single shot on target and were made to pay for their wastefulness.

Frankfurt were also in DFB-Pokal action in midweek but failed to progress to the final of the German Cup after losing 2-1 to Bayern Munich.

Frankfurt have only managed to get the better of Hertha once in their previous 11 meetings. There have been five draws during that time, will Hertha have claimed four victories.

It is also worth pointing out that Hertha have kept a clean sheet in six of their last 11 games against Eintracht, although the two sides played out an entertaining 2-2 draw earlier in the campaign.

Hertha have a number of injury problems. Santiago Ascacibar, Marius Wolf, Thomas Kraft, Marvin Plattenhardt, Matheus Cunha, and Janairo Dilrosun are all doubts for the hosts.

As for Frankfurt, Goncalo Paciencia and Gelson Fernandes remain sidelined through injury, while Sebastian Rode is serving a suspension.

Given that Hertha have won three of their last five games by over 1.5 goals and Frankfurt have lost three of their previous six away games by over 2.5 goals, a high-scoring home win is on the cards here.

Forebet predicts that Hertha Berlin will score over 2.5 goals on their way to victory over Eintracht Frankfurt.
