Last season’s Vysshaya Liga title winners, Dinamo Brest, find themselves in the disappointing position of 10th place on the domestic top flight table after making an indifferent start to this new Belarus season.

Although Dinamo Brest have captured wins over Slutsk 1-0 away from home and a convincing 3-1 home win against Isloch Minsk, Saturday’s hosts have also suffered two defeats already in these early stages of this season’s campaign with losses against Slavia Mozyr and Vitebsk.

When you compare this to last season’s title winning campaign where Dinamo Brest lost just once throughout last term, this season looks like being a tougher assignment for the home side as they prepare for the upcoming visit of Shakhtyor Soligorsk this weekend.

Form on home turf though at their Stadyen DASK Brestski has been pretty reliable as Dinamo Brest have lost just 1 of their last 11 matches which include 7 victories, and they’ll be keen to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat to Vitebsk here this Saturday.

Shakhtyor Soligorsk have fared a little worse so far this season than their hosts, Dinamo Brest, as the visitors currently occupy 13th place in the Vysshaya Liga having registered just 1 win from their opening 5 matches of this new campaign.

After suffering a 1-0 defeat at home to Torpedo Zhodino on the opening day of this new season, Shakhtyor then bounced back with an impressive 2-0 win away from home at Gorodeya which looked like being the perfect platform from which to launch their season.

However, although they extended this unbeaten run to three matches by drawing with both Neman Grodno and Smolevichi in 0-0 stalemates, they then lost another game at home with a 2-1 loss to Slutsk last weekend.

Top Trends

  • Shakhter Soligorsk are undefeated in their last 9 clashes with Dinamo Brest in Premier League
  • Dinamo Brest are undefeated in 32 of their last 35 league games
  • Shakhter Soligorsk's last 4 matches were draws out of their last 8 away league matches
  • Of their last 9 away matches in Premier League, Shakhter Soligorsk have seen 8 low-scoring with under 2.5 goals

Shakhtyor Soligorsk have certainly therefore performed better on their travels in recent times and this is indicated by their recent results on the road where they’ve lost just twice in their last 8 matches.

The draw has dominated these last 8 away from home though as there have been 4 draws, 2 wins and 2 defeats, so perhaps Shakhtyor would settle for a point at Dinamo Brest this weekend.

In addition, 3 of the last 5 meetings between these two sides have ended in draws, and given Dinamo Brest’s indifferent start to this season this clash may end up all square.
