Liverpool’s title charge set to continue with big win over Norwich

Norwich City will be looking to avoid another humiliating defeat to Liverpool when Jurgen Klopp’s men visit Carrow Road on Saturday.

The Canaries haven’t beaten Liverpool since 1994, while the Reds have thrashed Norwich on numerous occasions in recent years.

Norwich are now six points adrift at the bottom of the Premier League table having only managed to win one of their previous 12 games.

A 1-0 victory over relegation rivals Bournemouth last month proved to be a rare win for Daniel Farke’s side. Norwich have since lost to Tottenham before drawing with Newcastle last time out.

The Canaries look destined for a swift return to the Championship after failing to compete in the top-flight this season, and the visit of Liverpool isn’t going to help their cause.

Liverpool’s remarkable 22-point lead at the top means it’s only a matter of time before Jurgen Klopp’s side are crowned champions.

The Reds have won 24 of their 25 league games this season and only dropped points in a draw with Manchester United.

Klopp’s unstoppable machine are one course to break all kinds of records if they keep up their blistering form, and the possibility of going unbeaten for the entire campaign is looking increasingly likely.

However, Klopp will know that a trip to Carrow Road could be a potential banana skin. The German boss will demand the same level of intensity on Saturday that his team has shown throughout the season.

Liverpool’s last trip to Norwich saw the Reds claim a dramatic 5-4 win, while recent visits have seen Liverpool regularly score over 2.5 goals on their way to victory.

A 4-1 win for the Reds on the opening day of this season was a sign of things to come. Since then, Liverpool have raced away at the top, while Norwich have continued to free fall.

Norwich’s main team news surrounds Ben Godrey. The defender has been one of the Canaries’ standout performers this season, but he’ll miss the game this weekend due to suspension.

Liverpool will be keen to welcome back Sadio Mane after the forward missed the last couple of games through injury. James Milner and Xherdan Shaqiri could also return.

Norwich won’t go down without a fight, so we could see the home side get on the scoresheet on Saturday. However, Liverpool look set to claim another high-scoring win at Carrow Road.

Forebet predicts that Liverpool will cruise to a comfortable victory, scoring over 3.5 goals.
