Bayern Munich to continue unbeaten run versus RB Leipzig
4050

Bayern Munich are unbeaten in eight of their last nine matches versus RB Leipzig and aim for another win on Sunday to put more space between them in the title chase.

Hansi Flick’s team is atop the Bundesliga thanks to a brilliant six-match winning streak. Bayern Munich will welcome a struggling RB Leipzig to the Allianz Arena with the Bundesliga title in the balance.

RB Leipzig sit second in the Bundesliga table just one point behind Bayern Munich. Inconsistent form since the winter break has the Red Bulls looking up at Bayern Munich, however. Julian Nagelmann’s team has taken just one point from its last four possible.

Last weekend’s 2-2 draw against title chasers Borussia Monchengladbach was rather fortunate for RB Leipzig. They went into the halftime break down 2-0, but battled back to draw the fixture with two goals in the second half.

RB Leipzig have won just once in nine all-time meetings with Bayern Munich. That win came at the Red Bull Arena in 2018. Bayern Munich have won five of the team’s all-time meetings including last season’s German Cup final, 3-0.

Their previous match this season ended 1-1 after a cagey 90 minutes. Both goals came in the first half as Robert Lewandowski scored for Bayern Munich while Emil Forsberg got on the scoresheet for RB Leipzig.

Bayern Munich will be difficult to defeat at the Allianz Arena. They have taken 22 points from 30 possible at home with 33 goals scored and nine conceded.

Flick is dealing with several injury issues, however. Winger Ivan Perisic is ruled out with a fractured ankle. Kingsley Coman could return to the line up along with centre-back Jerome Boateng. The duo could shake off recent injury issues to play.

RB Leipzig Dayot Upamecano is playing despite being injured and is expected to start at centre-back. Meanwhile, Nagelsmann is without injured duo Willi Orban and Ibrahima Konate.

RB Leipzig played in midweek versus Eintracht Frankfurt in the German Cup, losing 3-1. The loss continued the Red Bulls’ poor form since the winter break. Bayern Munich, on the other hand, defeated Hoffenheim 4-3 in their cup match.

Sunday’s game is a titanic clash between two Bundesliga title hopefuls. With RB Leipzig struggling and having a poor historical record versus Bayern Munich, expect the home side to win with both teams scoring and over 2.5 goals tallied.
