After having to endure a disappointing 4-match spell without a win in the Championship, Blackburn Rovers head into this Saturday afternoon clash against Fulham at Ewood Park on the back of a 4-match sequence without defeat, so the hosts will be quietly confident that they can get something out of this upcoming encounter.
Points gained in 1-1 draws with Preston North End and Middlesbrough have been complemented by wins against Sheffield Wednesday 5-0 away from home and their recent 2-1 home win against QPR, so Tony Mowbray’s side may fancy their chances of extending their unbeaten run against Fulham.
Results on home turf at Ewood Park have also been encouraging for Blackburn as the hosts are unbeaten in their last 10 matches which has helped Rovers into a top half position of 10th place on the Championship ladder.
Within this solid 10-match unbeaten spell there have been 5 wins and 5 draws while Rovers have been involved in 6 draws at home so far this season, and only Middlesbrough with 7 draws have been involved in more stalemates at home in the Championship.
3rd placed Fulham also extended their unbeaten run to 4 matches in the Championship last weekend when they registered a narrow 3-2 home win against Huddersfield Town but it wasn’t quite as straightforward as it should have been despite Fulham storming into an early 3-0 lead.
Nevertheless, that victory over The Terriers became Fulham’s third win in four matches in the second tier after they’d previously recorded wins against Hull City and Middlesbrough, along with a draw away from home at Charlton Athletic.
However, results away from home have been more modest as The Cottagers have picked up just 1 win out of their last 5 matches on their travels which was at Hull City, but defeats at Preston North End and Brentford prove Fulham can be vulnerable away from home.
The visitors have also drawn 2 of their last 3 matches on their travels which have been 3-3 at Luton Town and a 0-0 draw at Charlton Athletic, so Fulham may be happy to settle for a point at Ewood Park, especially as Blackburn are currently enjoying an impressive 10-match unbeaten run in their own backyard.
Both teams therefore may have to settle for a point apiece here.
