Brentford and Nottingham Forest to both score in play-off clash
2980

Next up in the Championship is a mouthwatering encounter between 5th placed Brentford and 4th placed Nottingham Forest in what could be dubbed an early play-off dress rehearsal as the two teams meet at Griffin Park on Tuesday night.

Brentford gained a point last weekend in the Championship when they held Huddersfield Town to a 0-0 draw at John Smith’s Stadium which came on the back of two wins on the trot as The Bees recorded victories over Bristol City 4-0 away from home and a 3-1 home win against QPR.

In fact, Brentford have suffered just 1 defeat out of their last 8  matches overall in the Championship which has earned them a spot in the top six of the second tier, but the hosts now have to stay in the play-off pack which may be the tough bit.

Brentford will be up against a similarly in-form outfit in the shape of Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night, but the hosts aren’t likely to be fazed as they’ve won their last 6 home matches on the trot.

Nottingham Forest sit just one league position and 1 point above their Tuesday night’s hosts as they prepare for the trip down to the nation’s capital to take on an impressive Brentford side who are gaining momentum at Griffin Park.

Forest will also be in confident mood though as the Tricky Trees have put together a promising 6-match run without defeat in the Championship which includes wins against Hull City, Wigan Athletic, Blackburn Rovers and Luton Town.

This improved sequence of results have helped Sabri Lamouchi’s side launch a serious challenge on a top six finish, and they’ll no doubt fancy their chances of getting at least a point in this top six show-down against The Bees.

The visitors have suffered just 1 defeat out of their last 7 matches overall on the road and just 2 losses in their last 15 matches on their travels as Forest have become a reliable unit away from home in the Championship.

With this being an anticipated closely fought clash, the goals market may be appealing here, especially as 4 of the last 6 meetings between these two evenly matched sides have resulted with both teams scoring.
