Nottingham Forest to take the spoils over Reading
2494

Nottingham Forest seem to have clicked back into gear at just about the right time as the hosts secured another valuable three points in Saturday’s evening clash which saw Forest register a 3-1 home win against floundering Luton Town.

That win over The Hatters became Forest’s fourth win in five matches in the Championship and followed earlier victories against Hull City, Wigan Athletic and Blackburn Rovers, as well as a point in the corresponding away fixture against tonight’s opponents, Reading, at the Madejski Stadium recently.

Wednesday night’s hosts, Nottingham Forest, certainly seem to have recovered from an earlier lean spell which saw the hosts endure a worrying 5-match sequence without a win in the Championship which included defeats to Cardiff City, Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield Town.

Forest possess a couple of dangerous forwards up front in the shape of Grabban (15 goals) and Lolley (6 goals), who both got on the scoresheet against Luton Town on the weekend, and will no doubt be keen to make it four home wins on the trot for the Tricky Trees on Wednesday night.

Onto Reading, and The Royals were handed a 2-0 defeat away from home at The Den against Millwall on Saturday which ended the Berkshire club’s promising 7-match unbeaten run in the Championship.

Since taking over the reigns at the Madejski Stadium, manager, Mark Bowen, has helped transform this Reading outfit from possible relegation candidates to one of the form sides currently in the second tier, so no doubt they’ll be keen to show that their recent upturn in form isn’t temporary at the City Ground on Wednesday night.

This recent 7-match sequence included wins against Derby County and QPR at home along with back-to-back wins away from home at Preston North End and Fulham, so The Royals will still be confident that they can get a result of sorts in the east midlands against Forest.

That recent loss at Millwall also ended an unbeaten run of 5 matches on their travels in the Championship too, so it remains to be seen whether they can recover from that defeat against an up-beat Forest side at the City Ground.

This clash ended in a 1-1 draw recently at the Madejski Stadium but it could be a different story at the City Ground on Wednesday night with Nottingham Forest currently in the groove.
