One of the biggest pieces of football news in the last few weeks has been Quique Setien replacing Ernesto Valverde as the head coach of Barcelona.
The experienced head coach will manage his first game as the Catalan club’s boss on Sunday night, as the Blaugrana host Granada at the Nou Camp.
Valverde left the club from Catalonia after the Blaugrana suffered defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup final semi-final. However, it is important to remember that Barcelona are still top of La Liga and in the knockout stages of the Champions League.
The Blaugrana look to have a big battle on their hands to retain their crown as Spanish champions, with arch-rivals Real Madrid, who currently trail them by virtue of inferior goal difference.
The home side finished 2019 in La Liga in an underwhelming fashion, as a goalless draw against Espanyol in their last league game means they have drawn three of their last four outings in the Spanish top-flight.
Barcelona are massive favourites to see off the threat of the visitors, who they have beaten in 11 of the last 13 meetings. However, Barcelona cannot afford any complacency, as Granada won the reverse fixture 2-0.
After a fantastic start to their campaign in the La Liga, the visitor's form has rather faded of late. In fact, they have won just two of their last nine matches in the Spanish top-flight.
Their recent poor form has seen the Andalusians slip to tenth place in the table, four points outside the European spots.
Granada’s away form will need to improve if they are to climb the table again, as the visitors have lost their five league matches on their travels while conceding at least two goals in each defeat.
Forebet predicts Granada will suffer more away-day misery in this clash, suffering a heavy defeat in Catalonia.
