Brentford to win London clash against QPR
3159

It’s an all-London affair up next as 3rd placed Brentford take on 15th placed QPR in Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off at Griffin Park as the hosts look to continue their impressive season with a local derby victory here.

Brentford have suffered just 1 defeat out of their last 6 matches overall in the Championship and this recent impressive sequence of results have helped The Bees up into 3rd spot and has consolidated their position in the play-off pack.

The one defeat was a 1-0 loss away from home at Millwall, but wins against Cardiff City, Fulham, Swansea City and a rousing 4-0 win away from home at Bristol City last weekend  have far outweighed the negatives and there seems to be no let up from Thomas Frank’s side.

Brentford’s form at Griffin Park has been their strong suit this season having lost just 2 of their 12 matches on home turf to date this season while forward Ollie Watkins (17 goals) has taken over where former striker Maupay left off.

QPR pulled a remarkable result out of the hat last weekend when they registered a convincing 6-1 home win against Cardiff City which absolutely no-one could have predicted and a result which ended QPR’s 4-match winless run.

The visitors had previously suffered defeats to Barnsley 5-3, Reading 1-0 and Hull City 2-1 along with gaining a point in a 2-2 draw at home with London rivals, Charlton Athletic, but inconsistency has crept in this season whenever QPR seemed to be gaining momentum.

This inconsistency has also been evident in QPR’s matches away from home in the Championship this season too as they’ve won 5 and lost 6 so far on their travels, while picking up just 1 win on the road out of their last 6 matches away from home which was captured at a floundering Birmingham City outfit.

However, with just 2 away wins out of their last 8 matches on the road in the second tier, QPR seem unlikely to replicate last weekend’s emphatic result, especially against a well-organised and consistent Brentford side.

This particularly looks the case here as Brentford have won 6 of the last 8 meetings against QPR as The Bees have held the upper hand in recent exchanges.
