Bristol City look to bounce back against Blackburn
2328

Following a disappointing and seemingly inexplicable midweek 2-1 defeat at home to Millwall, Bristol City will be desperate to return to winning ways when they entertain Blackburn Rovers at Ashton Gate on Saturday.

Although recent results have produced a mixed bag for Bristol City as they’ve registered wins against Huddersfield Town 5-2 and a solid 2-1 win away at Fulham, The Robins have also fallen to defeats against West Brom and Millwall as well.

However, on home turf at Ashton Gate, Bristol City have suffered just 1 defeat out of their last 9 matches in the Championship which was to the aforementioned Millwall who are now unbeaten in their last 6 matches under Gary Rowett.

Within this impressive record at home, Bristol City have racked up wins against QPR, Reading, Charlton Athletic and Huddersfield Town while forwards Weimann (7 goals) and Diedhiou (5 goals) have contributed to Bristol City’s ascent into the top four of the Championship.

In addition, Bristol City have won 3 of the last 4 meetings against Blackburn Rovers and they’ll be confident they can get a result on Saturday.

Blackburn Rovers also continued their progress up the Championship table when they earned a solid point away from home in a 1-1 draw at Swansea City which extended Rovers’ unbeaten run in the second tier to 5 matches.

Tony Mowbray’s side have won 4 of these 5 matches too having registered wins against Barnsley, Brentford, Stoke City and Derby County, and these recent and welcome victories have lifted Blackburn up into 10th place and just 3 points within reach of 6th placed Preston North End.

However, it should be noted that although Blackburn have collected 9 wins in total to date this season, 6 of these have been recorded on home turf at Ewood Park, while Rovers have picked up just 3 wins out of their 10 away matches to date this season.

This includes winning just 1 of their last 6 matches on their travels which came in the shape of a 2-1 win at Stoke City but recent losses at QPR, Birmingham City, Preston North End and Leeds United show they can be vulnerable on their travels.

In short, Bristol City stand a decent chance of picking up at least a point here and can be backed with the AH0 handicap (draw no bet) option here.
