Struggling Norwich unlikely to end Leicester’s winning run
2949

Second-place Leicester host lowly Norwich City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday. The Foxes will be looking to keep pace with Liverpool at the top, while even a win for the Canaries wouldn’t be enough to lift them out of the relegation zone.

Brendan Rodgers’ side have been breaking records all over the place this season. After beating Southampton 9-0 to register the biggest ever Premier League away win, Leicester notched up a club-record eight straight top-flight wins in a row by hammering Aston Villa 4-1 last time out.

Leicester remain eight points behind Liverpool, but they are doing everything they can to keep the pressure on the league leaders. The Foxes have also opened up a six-point gap between them and third-place Manchester City.

Rodgers’ side is built on an extremely solid defence. Leicester have conceded just 10 goals in 16 league games this term – four fewer than Liverpool. With 39 goals scored, they also boast the best goal difference in the division.

In contrast, Norwich have the second-worst defensive record in the Premier League. Only Southampton (35) have conceded more goals than Daniel Farke’s men (34), while only bottom side Watford (9) and Crystal Palace (14) have scored fewer goals than Norwich (17).

The Canaries have only managed to win three of their 16 league games since returning to the top-flight – drawing two and losing 11. This doesn’t bode well for a trip to Leicester.

Jamie Vardy scored twice in the win over Villa, and the 32-year-old is well on his way to breaking another record. The striker has now scored in eight consecutive league games, meaning he is only three away from equaling his own record set back in the title-winning campaign of 2015/16.

Vardy’s tally now stands at 16 goals in 16 league games this season. He is five clear of his nearest rivals – Tammy Abraham and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who have both scored 11.

It’s fair to say that Norwich’s season has not been helped by injuries to a number of important players. Key defender Zimmermann is back, but Timm Klose, Josip Drmic and Grant Hanley remain sidelined.

Leicester have no fresh injury concerns, so we could see Brendan Rodgers stick with the same starting eleven that brushed aside Villa in the previous round.

The Foxes have won their last three matches against Norwich, and this trend looks set to continue on Saturday. Norwich are struggling, while Leicester are in scintillating form.

Forebet predicts that Leicester will record a comfortable win over Norwich, while another clean sheet looks likely for Brendan Rodgers’ side.
