Derby to steal the points over QPR
2957

It’s been a season of exact opposites for Derby County so far in this season’s Championship as they prepare for their Saturday afternoon clash with QPR at their Pride Park ground in confident mood despite their recent 3-0 defeat away from home at Fulham in midweek.

Derby’s poor form away from home have seen The Rams collect just 1 away win from their 9 outings to date in the Championship.

That includes losing their last 4 matches on the trot with defeats at Charlton Athletic, Hull City, Nottingham Forest and Fulham, but results at home have been far more encouraging for Philip Cocu’s side.

On home turf, Derby County have been a completely different outfit as The Rams have won their last 5 matches on the trot and overall are unbeaten in their last 7 matches at Pride Park having registered wins over Birmingham City, Luton Town, Wigan Athletic, Middlesbrough and Preston North End.

In addition, Derby have also kept clean sheets in each of their last 4 home wins too, so they’ll be in a confident frame of mind ahead of this upcoming encounter against QPR.

QPR continued their slide down the Championship table and the London side now find themselves in a disappointing 16th place following their midweek 4-0 rout at home to high-flying Nottingham Forest which handed Mark Warburton’s side a fourth defeat in five matches.

The visitors started the Championship season in bright fashion as they picked up 5 wins from their first 8 matches of the new term, but since then the wheels have fallen off as The R’s have won just 2 of their subsequent 10 matches in the second tier.

Wins over Blackburn Rovers and Hull City have been far outweighed by 6 defeats during this poor spell of form while on their travels, QPR have lost 3 of their last 4 matches on the road having suffered defeats at Cardiff City, Leeds United and Fulham.

QPR’s recent record away from home at Pride Park also makes for worrying reading as Derby have won the last 4 meetings at home against The R’s, winning the last encounter 2-0 and a similar scoreline could unfold here this Saturday again as Philip Cocu’s side go in search of a sixth home win on the trot.
