The Premier League resumes following the latest international break and we have a cracking match to look forward to on Saturday 19th October.  Crystal Palace welcome Manchester City to Selhurst Park in what has the makings of being a great game.  This is the late kick-off on Saturday evening so all eyes will be on the Eagles and Citizens.

Crystal Palace come into this game having picked up a very good 2-1 win at West Ham United last time out. Having fallen a goal behind after 54 minutes, Crystal Palace provided the perfect response by equalising just 9 minutes later.  They then sealed maximum points with a goal in the 87th minute.

That result means Crystal Palace are undefeated in their last three Premier League matches have lost only one of their last six.  They have defeated Manchester United and West Ham United away from home plus Aston Villa and Norwich City at home.

Trends show Crystal Palace are undefeated in their last six Premier League games at Selhurst Park.  They have won three and drawn three of those matches with the wins coming against Bournemouth, Aston Villa and Norwich.

Crystal Palace have kept a clean sheet in four of their last six home Premier League games and will be hoping to keep Manchester City at bay.  However, only once have they managed to score more than a single goal in their last four on home soil.

Manchester City suffered a huge setback in the defence of their Premier League title before the international break as they lost 2-0 at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers. Wolves are proven to make things tough for the top teams but this was a game Manchester City were expected to win.

Pep Guardiola’s team are now 8 points behind leaders Liverpool and cannot afford to drop points in this game.  The loss at home to Wolves was Manchester City’s second defeat of the season as they had previously slumped to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Norwich City at Carrow Road.  However, that is their only defeat in their last eleven away Premier League matches.  Manchester City have won each of the other ten away games.

Trends show Manchester City have won by 2 or more goals in six of their last nine Premier League matches and have kept a clean sheet in ten of their last fifteen against Crystal Palace.

Team news and Crystal Palace are still without injured central defender Mamadou Sakho.  They also have doubts over the fitness of Luke Dreher and Connor Wickham, with the latter more likely to recover for this game.

Manchester City will be sweating on the fitness of their international players.  They are already without Aymeric Laporte, Benjamin Mendy, Kyle Walker and Leroy Sane.  There are also doubts over the fitness of Kevin De Bruyne, Sergio Aguero and John Stones.

This is going to be a difficult assignment for Manchester City following the internationals.  Crystal Palace are in good form and should find the back of the net but Manchester City will be determined to get back to winning ways and should outscore their hosts to win the game.
