QPR and Blackburn to both score in mid-table clash
2215

A mid-table clash between QPR and Blackburn Rovers looks an intriguing fixture at Loftus road this Saturday with both teams looking to press claims for a challenge for a top six finish and a possible place in the play-offs.

There’s still a long way to go yet but QPR have made a positive start under new manager, Mark Warburton, despite suffering recent back-to-back defeats to West Brom and Cardiff City, which has resulted in The R’s dropping down to 11th place on the Championship ladder.

QPR started the season with 5 wins out of their first 8 matches of the season which was a significant improvement upon the previous reign of former England manager, Steve McClaren, but perhaps the hosts are now returning to the mean with the two recent defeats.

Rangers have produced mixed results at home so far this season as they’ve registered wins against Wigan Athletic and Luton Town but have also fallen foul to losses against high-flying Swansea City and West Brom, so perhaps the straight win markets should be avoided here.

Instead, 10 of QPR’s last 15 home matches have seen both teams score and this looks a more appealing option.

Blackburn Rovers sit just one league position below QPR and two points adrift of their Saturday’s hosts as Tony Mowbray’s side look to push themselves further up the top half of the Championship table with a win in the nation’s capital.

The visitors have also posted mixed results in recent weeks as Rovers have picked up wins against Millwall and Reading, but have suffered defeats to West Brom and Luton Town which has left Blackburn in a frustrating mid-table position.

The mixed results theme also continues on their travels too as Rovers have recorded wins at Hull City along with the aforementioned Reading victory but have also lost at Fulham and West Brom, so they too should be avoided in the straight win market.

However, 11 of Blackburn Rovers’ 13 away matches in the Championship have resulted in both teams scoring, and with goalscoring midfielder Bradley Dack (3 goals) along with forwards Armstrong and Graham up front, the visitors should also pose a serious goal threat in this clash.

Both QPR and Blackburn Rovers will fancy their chances of getting a result here and this should make for an open game with both teams notching.
