Spurs to bounce back against Brighton
4815

Brighton & Hove Albion host Tottenham Hotspur at the Amex Stadium in the Premier League’s early kick-off on Saturday.

The Seagulls have failed to win a league match since the opening day of the season. A run of three draws and three defeats has seen Brighton slip to 16th.

Following back-to-back draws, Brighton were beaten 2-0 by Chelsea in the previous round and only managed to register one shot on target at Stamford Bridge.

Seagulls manager Graham Potter will be concerned about his team’s recent run of poor results but he will also feel that this may be a good time to play Tottenham.

Spurs were beaten 7-2 at home by Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday and have also been extremely inconsistent domestically.

With 3 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats in the Premier League so far, it’s very difficult to predict what sort of display you will get from Tottenham from one game to the next.

Spurs scraped past Southampton in their last league game, but suffered a humiliating EFL Cup exit at the hands of League Two side Colchester United the week before.

Tottenham’s away form is poor. Mauricio Pochettino’s men have failed to win any of their last 9 away games in the Premier League (drawing 2 and losing 7) and have also not kept a clean sheet in that time.

Still, Brighton have also been woeful at home and have scored just two goals at the Amex this term.

Neal Maupay is the Seagulls’ top goal scorer with 2 goals in 7 top-flight matches while Harry Kane has scored 5 goals and registered 1 assist in the same amount of games.

Davy Propper and Solly March are expected to return for Brighton this weekend. Ezequiel Schelotto was named of the bench at Chelsea following a knee injury and should be available for selection.

As for Tottenham, Giovani Lo Celso is still out with a hip problem and Ryan Sessegnon remains sidelined due to an ongoing injury.

Spurs have won 5 and drawn one of their 6 meetings with Brighton since 2005, and despite their poor run of form, their unbeaten record in this fixture looks set to continue on Saturday.

It’s likely to be a cagey affair but Tottenham should have enough to beat Brighton. Forebet predicts that Spurs will clinch the victory, but not without both teams scoring.
