Eintracht Frankfurt to get back on track in the capital

Union Berlin have made a poor start to life in the Bundesliga in their maiden campaign in the German top-flight. The team from the capital have picked up just four points from their opening five matches.

However, a Friday night home game against a travel-sick Eintracht Frankfurt could be a big opportunity for Urs Fischer’s side to pick up a much-needed victory.

The home side has lost three of their five Bundesliga games, including their last two outings against Werder Bremen and Bayer Leverkusen. Their only win in the German top-flight came in a 3-1 defeat of perennial title-challengers Dortmund.

Everybody connected with the home side will be hoping for a repeat of that win against Adi Hutter’s side, who have made an inconsistent start to their Bundesliga campaign.

One player who has made a relatively bright start to Union’s debut Bundesliga campaign is Swedish striker Sebastian Andersson, who has scored three times in the opening five matches of the German top-flight campaign.

In recent seasons, Eintracht Frankfurt have become regular challengers for the European spots. Under Adi Hutter, they even made the Europa League semi-final last season. However, the visitors have made a mixed start to their Bundesliga campaign, picking up seven points from five games.

Frankfurt have been strong on home soil this season, as proven by their late 2-2 draw against Dortmund last time out. However, they have lost both their away games so far this season, losing against RB Leipzig and Augsburg.

The poor away record is not a new problem though, as Frankfurt have now lost their last four away matches in the Bundesliga dating back to May. Their defensive displays have been the crux of the problem, as Frankfurt have conceded at least two goals in all four straight away defeats.

Forebet predicts that the visitors will end their away day woes by recording a victory in a high-scoring encounter.
