Spurs to return to winning ways with victory over Palace

Tottenham host Crystal Palace on Saturday as Premier League action returns following the international break.

The Eagles have made a promising start the season and currently sit 4th in table, five places above Spurs.

However, Tottenham can go ahead of Palace with a victory this weekend and Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping his side can return to winning ways after failing to win any of their last three league matches.

An opening day victory for Spurs was followed by draws with Manchester City and Arsenal while the defeat to Newcastle in round 3 was a shock.

Tottenham have conceded in each of their four Premier League matches this season and their defense will be eager to register its first clean sheet on Saturday.

Crystal Palace have only scored three goals in their first four matches but it’s at the other end of the pitch where they have impressed the most.

The Eagles boast the best defensive record in the division after conceding just two goals so far.

Despite their recent run of good form, Palace haven’t beaten Spurs in the Premier League since 2015.

In fact, Spurs have won their last eight league meetings with Palace and it wouldn’t be a surprise if their winning streak was extended to nine matches this weekend.

Tottenham have also kept a clean sheet in their last six league matches against the Eagles.

Another interesting trend to consider is that seven of the last twelve league meetings between the two teams have finished with a 1-0 score line in favor of Spurs.

Tottenham currently have a lengthy injury list but many of their players should be available for selection following a two-week break.

Tanguy Ndombele wasn’t selected for the recent France squad and is set to return to first team action while Kyle Walker-Peters and Eric Dier should be ready to make a return.

Ryan Sessegnon will have to wait to make his Spurs debut as the promising young left-back recovers from a hamstring problem.

As for Palace, manager Roy Hodgson will be hoping that he can bolster his defensive options as Scott Dann, Mamadou Sakho and James Tomkins are all close to making a comeback.

Crystal Palace are likely to make it difficult for Tottenham on Saturday after an impressive start to the campaign.

However, following a hat-trick for England in the international break, Harry Kane is in red-hot form and he – along with Spurs’ other talented forwards – should be too much for Palace to handle.

Forebet is going with the recent trends, and predicting that Tottenham Hotspur will claim yet another 1-0 win over Crystal Palace.
