Norwich City host Chelsea in the Premier League’s early kick-off on Saturday.

The Canaries picked up an eye-catching 3-1 victory over Newcastle United last weekend and will be looking to build on their impressive start at home.

After losing their opening match to last season’s runners-up Liverpool, Norwich responded brilliantly and currently sit above Chelsea in the table.

The Blues were thrashed 4-0 by Manchester United in their season opener before scraping a 1-1 draw with Leicester City in the last round.

The game against the Foxes was Frank Lampard’s first match at Stamford Bridge since taking over as manager, and he would have been disappointed that his side couldn’t hold on to hand him his first win.

Lampard has been brave with his team selections since his arrival, and the 41-year-old has not been afraid to put his faith in the club’s youngsters.

Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham have both featured heavily under the new boss, with Mount scoring Chelsea’s only Premier League goal so far this season.

For Norwich, it is no surprise that Teemu Pukki has been their standout performer in the early stages of the new campaign.

The Finnish striker already has four goals to his name, and bagged a hat-trick against the Magpies in the previous round.

Manager Daniel Farke has stuck with his trusted philosophy and Norwich have continued to play the same free-flowing football that helped them gain promotion from the Championship last season.

In team news, Forward Josip Drmic picked up an injury against Liverpool and missed Norwich’s last match. Cristoph Zimmermann and Tim Klose are both yet to feature so far this season.

For Chelsea, English attacking duo Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are both still sidelined through injury.

The two teams haven’t met in England’s top flight since the 2015/16 season. On both occasions during that campaign, Chelsea came away with a narrow victory.

The Blues beat Norwich 1-0 at Stamford Bridge before claiming a 2-1 victory in the reverse fixture.

Worryingly for the Canaries, they have not beaten Chelsea in all competitions since 1994.

Chelsea are unbeaten in the previous 15 meetings between the two teams (W11, D4, L0).

This trend is likely to continue on Saturday. Despite Norwich’s promising start, Chelsea have a far stronger squad should cruise to a comfortable victory at Carrow Road.

Forebet predicts a Chelsea win, with both teams to score, and over 3.5 goals.
