Lincoln’s stellar start to the season to continue at MK Dons
3000
Lincoln City have made a perfect start to their League One campaign this season, winning all three of their games so far to top the league.
A trip to Milton Keynes Dons on Tuesday night is the Imps latest test in the third tier of English football.
The visitors have hit the ground running in League One after a 20-year absence from the third tier of the English game. Their momentum from promotion last year has given the visitors the ideal start to the season.
Last time out Danny Cowley’s team hammered Southend 4-0 on home soil. The game saw City keep a third consecutive clean sheet, as well as score at least twice for their third consecutive game in League One.
The Imps won the League Two title last season and if they continue their early season form, they could very well be surprise contenders for back-to-back promotions.
Milton Keynes Dons have played just two league games so far this season, which has produced mixed results. The Dons opened their campaign with a 1-0 home win over Shrewsbury before suffering a 3-2 defeat at Wycombe last time out.
The home side finished third in the League One table last season and were one of the more fancied teams for promotion at the start of the campaign. However, the Wycombe defeat may have been a reality check for Paul Tisdale’s side.
MK Dons home form was a real concern last season in League One. They finished the campaign by failing to win in four matches at Stadium MK in the third tier. The opening gameweek win over Shrewsbury at least ended that winless run on home soil.
Unfortunately for the home side, Forebet predicts that Lincoln’s good start to the season will continue with an away victory in a low-scoring encounter.
