The Premier League seemed to come so easy to Wolves last season, as the team from the Midlands finished seventh in the English top-flight after winning the Championship in the previous campaign.

It seems Nuno Espirito Santo’s team are taking the Europa League in their stride too. The team from the Midlands have already seen off Crusaders 6-1 and on Thursday night they return to the competition to face Armenian side Pyunik.

Santo’s team are already 4-0 up from the first leg in Armenia, so the game at Molineux looks nothing more than a formality. Only three more games now stand between Wolves and the group stages of the competition.

The Premier League side were highly entertaining last season, so it is not majorly surprising to see Santo’s team scoring so freely in the Europa League. No doubt tougher challenges lay ahead for the home side in the later stages of the competition.

This tie already looks gone for minnows Pyunik. The visitors have been highly inconsistent in this competition anyway, so even if they had suffered a less harsh defeat in the first leg, they would not have been travelling to the Midlands with great expectations.

Pyunik have already eliminated Shkupi of Macedonia and Poland’s Jablonec in the Europa League this season. However, Wolves were always going to prove a much bigger obstacle to the visitor’s progression in the competition.

The Armenian side has struggled for away wins in the Europa League since first qualifying for the competition back in 2012. In fact, they have won just three of their last 11 matches on their travels in the Europa League.

Keeping the opposition out has been Pyunik’s biggest problem on their travels in the Europa League, as they have kept just two clean sheets away from home in their 11 away matches in the competition.
