Leeds United take on Nottingham Forest at Elland Road in the early Championship kick-off on Saturday.

Both teams had contrasting opening matches of the 2019/20 campaign and Leeds are the favorites heading into this one.The Whites got their season off to flier with a dominant 3-1 victory away to Bristol City. A stunning Pablo Hernandez strike gave his side the lead on 24 minutes.

The veteran Spaniard then turned provider by assisting Patrick Bamford after the break before Jack Harrison completed the scoring for Leeds.

Andreas Wiemann scored late on for Bristol City but Leeds came away with a comfortable opening day win.

On the other hand, Nottingham Forest were beaten 2-1 at home against West Bromwich Albion.

Forest opened the scoring after just 8 minutes when Matty Cash played a clever one-two with Albert Adomah before firing home from outside the area.

Despite Forest’s impressive start, West Brom scored two first-half goals to take the lead and were the better side for the majority of the match.

Sabri Lamouchi is likely to tinker with his starting line-up following the club’s opening day defeat.

Alfa Semedo played well on his debut however he had to leave the field with an injury and is a doubt for Saturday’s clash with Leeds.

Forest have made a host of signings in the summer transfer window and the likes of Rafa Mir and Sammy Ameobi will be pushing for a start.

Leeds have been far less active in the off-season and will be without last season’s top scorer Kemar Roofe following his recent move to Belgian club Anderlecht.

Marcelo Bielsa could stick with the same starting eleven that performed so well in their season opener which would see Patrick Bamford lead the line again.

Former Nottingham Forest striker Bamford will be keen to prove a point when he returns to the City Ground on Saturday and would no doubt love to score against his old club.

Forest were unbeaten in the two meetings between the teams last season.

A 1-1 draw at Elland Road was followed by a 4-2 home victory for Forest however Leeds come into this tie as favorites.

Leeds are one of the bookmakers’ front-runners for promotion this season and with so many new faces at Forest, it could take a while for the squad to settle.

Forebet predicts both teams to score and Leeds to come away with a narrow victory.
