Bottom and Top Clash in Finland

There is a full fixture list to enjoy in the Finland Veikkausliiga on the weekend.  On Saturday 29th June VPS Vaasa take on Ilves Tampere at the Elisa Stadion in Vaasa.

This a clash between two teams at the opposite end of the table.  VPS Vaasa are currently in 11th place with just 7 points to their name this season from twelve games played.  Only one team is below them in the table.

Ilves Tampere on the other hand are sitting second in the league with 22 points from eleven games played.  A win in this match and dropped points for Honka could see Ilves Tampere move to the top of the table.

Ilves Tampere have won each of their last three games, two of which have been in the league and one in the cup.  Trends show they have lost only one of their last eleven Veikkausliiga matches and that came away at KuPS on the 24th May.

Away form shows Ilves Tampere have kept a clean sheet in four of their last six away league games and they have lost just one of their last six on the road.  However, they have scored no more than a single goal once in their last five away league matches.

Looking ahead to the team news and VPS Vaasa could be without the injured trio of Aatu Kujanpaa, Samba Sillah and Kostas Stavrothanasopoulos.

Ilves Tampere could be without two players as Aleksi Tarvonen and Santeri Haarala are doubtful.

This has the makings of being a low scoring game.  However, Ilves Tampere are in much better form than the hosts and we could see a 1-0 away win.
