Rosenborg Aim to Continue Rise up the Table

Rosenborg Aim to Continue Rise up the Table
2244

On Sunday 23rd June we have a number of Norwegian Eliteserien games to watch and one of the more intriguing games is between Tromso and Rosenborg at the Alfheim Stadion.

The hosts find themselves at the wrong end of the table with just 10 points from their eleven games played. They are currently in the relegation playoff place and need to win to guarantee they do not drop into the automatic relegation zone.

Rosenborg are upwardly mobile and start the weekend in 9th place on 15 points. A win could see them move as high as 6th place.

Tromso come into this match having picked up a good 1-0 win at Stabaek on Monday night. With both teams at the bottom of the table, it was a huge moment for Tromso as they recorded just their third win of the season.

Trends show they have won each of their last three matches, two of which have come in the league. Prior to beating Stabaek, Tromso recorded an excellent 2-1 home win against Molde.  However, that is their only home win in their last eight home Eliteserien games. Tromso lost each of the previous seven matches.

Not only that but Tromso have conceded goals in each of their last nine home league games. They have conceded 2 or more goals in seven of the last eight on home soil.  Trends show over 2.5 goals have been seen in thirteen of their last sixteen home Eliteserien matches.

Rosenborg have come into a bit of form recently and they have won each of their last five games in all competitions. Two of those matches have been in the NM Cupen and three in the league.  The wins in the league have come against Mjondalen and Valerenga at home and Brann away.

Trends show Rosenborg are undefeated in the five of their last six Eliteserien games and their last two away from home. Rosenborg have scored in three of their last four away league matches but have kept just one clean sheet in their last five on the road.

Rosenborg have had no problem scoring goals against Tromso in their recent meetings and have found the back of the net in each of their last eight games.

Looking ahead to the team news and Tromso could be without Jostein Maurstad Gundersen who has a muscle injury. He is the only doubt for the home team who should be at full strength.

Rosenborg travel with a strong squad of their own and Besim Serbecic is the only player who could miss out for the visitors.

Rosenborg have started to find their feet and the defending champions are moving up the table. They may not keep a clean sheet in this one but Rosenborg could come away with the win.
