Blackburn to end season on a high against Swansea

Blackburn Rovers’ four-match winning streak in the Championship came to an abrupt end last weekend when they lost 2-1 away at league leaders, Norwich City, which secured automatic promotion for their hosts.

Nevertheless, Blackburn Rovers now hold home advantage at Ewood Park for this final day of the season clash with Swansea City, and Rovers will be confident that they can return to winning ways on Sunday as they look to rekindle their current winning momentum.

Rovers registered wins against Derby County, Nottingham Forest, QPR and Bolton Wanderers in a sequence that saw the Lancashire club score 8 goals and concede just 2 in reply.

The hosts head into their final home match of the season having won three of their last four matches at home, and with the likes of goalscoring midfielder Dack (14 goals) along with forwards Graham (15 goals) and Armstrong (5 goals) up front, Blackburn will be reasonably confident that they can grab all three points here and end their season on a high note.

Swansea City have lost just once in their last seven matches overall in the Championship which was a heavy 4-0 defeat away at hapless QPR, but five wins within this seven-match sequence gives The Swans reason to be confident when they make their way up to Blackburn on Sunday.

However, it should be noted that four of these five wins for Swansea were gained at their Liberty Stadium, while results away from home have been simply woeful in recent weeks; a narrow 1-0 win away at bottom club, Ipswich Town, last time out on their travels ended a dire run of seven straight defeats on the road.

Swansea have recorded just four away wins throughout this whole campaign with three of these victories being against teams situated in the bottom five of the Championship (1-0 at Bolton Wanderers, 4-1 at Reading and 1-0 at Ipswich Town).

In addition, despite possessing the likes of leading goalscorer, McBurnie (21 goals) in their attacking personnel, The Swans have failed to score in 9 of their 22 away matches to date this season.

Conversely, Blackburn Rovers have kept a total of 8 clean sheets within their 22 home matches to date which former defender and manager, Tony Mowbray will be delighted with no doubt.

Blackburn can edge the points here against a poor travelling Swansea City outfit.
