On Friday night, Bordeaux host Lyon at the Stade Matmut-Atlantique in Ligue One, as the visitors look to consolidate their top-three spot in the French top-flight.

Bordeaux are currently ten points clear of the relegation zone and look unlikely to suffer relegation this season. A recent league run of one win in their last nine outings has not helped the home sides chances of securing their top-flight status for next season.

Bordeaux have now lost their last two league games against Saint Etienne and last time out Nimes. Both games saw the home side concede at least two goals.

Despite their last two games producing high scoring games, their recent league matches have been relatively low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in six of their last nine Ligue One outings.

The home side has been inconsistent on home soil of late in the French top-flight, although they have lost just once in ten home games in Ligue One.

Lyon are currently third in the table, which means as it stands the visitors would qualify for the Champions League qualifiers. However, OL are six points behind Lille in second and just three points ahead of fourth-place Saint-Etienne, so cannot afford to slip up in this clash.

A 2-1 home win over Angers last time out ended a mini losing streak of two games for Lyon in the French top-flight. The game was typical of Lyon’s recent outings in Ligue One, in that it was high-scoring, as six of their last seven league games have produced over 2.5 goals.

Lyon have struggled for away wins of late in the French top-flight, winning just one of their last five league matches on their travels and suffering three defeats in the process.

Forebet predicts that Lyon will record a victory in a low-scoring clash to enhance their chances of a top-three finish this season in Ligue One.
