On Monday night, Ajax host Vitesse Arnhem at the Johan Cruyff Arena, as the home side attempt to record a crucial victory in the race for the Eredivisie title.

Fresh from their Champions League escapades, Erik ten Hag’s team will be looking to put some breathing space between themselves and second place PSV Eindhoven in the Dutch top-flight.

The pair are currently separated by just goal difference at the top of the table, with the team from the Dutch capital top of the table courtesy of a superior goal difference of 11 goals.

AFC Ajax have been in good form of late in the Eredivisie, winning their last five league games, while scoring at least twice in four of their last five league outings. In fact, the home side has failed to win just one of their last ten games in the Dutch top-flight.

The Champions League semi-finalists have been in stellar home form of late in the Eredivisie, winning 13 of their last 14 matches on home soil, while scoring at least twice in all 14 aforementioned home matches.

Vitesse Arnhem currently occupy one of the Europa League play-off spots in the Eredivisie. A 4-1 win over PEC Zwolle last time out in the Dutch top-flight means that Vitesse have lost just once in ten league outings.

However, they have had a tendency to draw a lot of matches of late, as the visitors have now drawn five of their last seven matches in the Dutch top-flight.

Arnhem’s recent Eredivisie matches have been high-scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in five of their last six outings in the Dutch top-flight. The visitors recent away record is not great in the Eredivisie, as they have recorded just one win from their last eight outings on their travels.

Forebet predicts that Ajax will record yet another high scoring home win to move three points clear of PSV, at least temporarily anyway.
