    On Friday night, Lyon host Angers at the Groupama Stadium, as the home side look to consolidate their position in the Champions League spots.

    Lyon are currently third in Ligue One, occupying the Champions League play-off spot. However, OL are now just three points clear of fourth-place Saint-Etienne in the race to secure the final spot in Europe’s elite competition for next season.

    Bruno Genesio’s team heads into this clash after back-to-back league defeats against Dijon and Nantes, as well as a 3-2 home loss to Rennes in the French Cup.

    Angers have been relatively prolific in Ligue One in recent games, scoring at least two goals in five of their last eight matches in the French top-flight.

    The visitors have found victories hard to come by on their travels of late in Ligue One, as they have won just two of their last 12 away matches in the French top-flight.
