Arch-rivals Celtic and Rangers will battle it out for the Scottish Cup trophy when they meet at Hampden Park on Saturday afternoon.

Celtic have claimed 41 Scottish Cup titles over the years, while Rangers have claimed 34. However, this is their first meeting in the showpiece since 2002.

In this preview, we discuss all the key stats, trends and analysis ahead of Saturday’s showdown. Keep reading to discover what Forebet’s AI algorithm predicts.

Celtic head into the final as favourites, having lifted the Scottish Premiership trophy last weekend following a 3-2 victory over St. Mirren.

After losing just three of their 38 league games, Brendan Rodgers’ side ended up finishing eight points clear of second-placed Rangers in the final standings.

Celtic won their first three Scottish Cup matches with ease, scoring 11 goals in the process. However, they drew 3-3 with Aberdeen in the semi-finals before eventually winning on penalties.

Averaging 3.5 goals per game in the Scottish Cup this season, Rodgers’ men will be confident of adding another trophy to their collection this weekend.

Meanwhile, Rangers ended their Premiership campaign with a 3-3 draw against Hearts, who scored twice after the 80-minute mark on Saturday.

It’s fair to say that Philippe Clement’s side are in iffy form right now, as they have recorded four wins, three draws and two losses in their last nine matches.

Like Celtic, however, Rangers have enjoyed plenty of success in the Scottish Cup this term, racking up 10 goals and three clean sheets across four games in the competition.

Having won all four cup games at both half time and full time, the Gers will be hopeful of ending the season on a high.

Head-to-head: Rangers have only managed to win one of their last 14 meetings with Celtic across all competitions, suffering nine defeats in that time.

To make matters worse for the Gers, they have won just one of their previous eight Scottish Cup matches against their Old Firm foes.

Team news: Celtic will be without injured duo James McCarthy (muscle) and Adam Montgomery (muscle) for the final showdown.

Rangers, on the other hand, look set to be without Leon Balogun (muscle), Oscar Cortes (muscle), Connor Goldson (knee) and Rabbi Matondo (knock).

Although Celtic have dominated this fixture in recent years, Rangers are expected to rise to the occasion at Hampden Park.

Forebet predicts that both teams will find the back of the net on Saturday, with Rangers outscoring Celtic to clinch the trophy in Glasgow.
