Luton Town and Nottingham Forest to meet in PL relegation six-pointer
5025

Luton Town and Nottingham Forest will meet in a Premier League relegation six-pointer, with the loser pulled closer to relegation.

Can Luton end their poor run of form or will our score prediction favour a Nottingham Forest win away from home?

While several Premier League clubs will focus on the FA Cup this weekend, Luton Town and Nottingham Forest will attempt to pick up valuable points in the race for top-flight survival.

Luton lost five of their last six games, including a midweek game in hand away to Bournemouth.

Despite leading 3-0 at halftime, Luton Town conspired to lose the match 4-3, with the Cherries having a tremendous second-half comeback.

The Hatters are three points from safety and are chasing Nottingham Forest. A win could take Luton out of the bottom three but it will depend on goal difference.

Forest lost their last three Premier League games. They conceded six goals across the last three games. The Reds’ recent losses to Liverpool and Brighton saw back-to-back 1-0 losses.

Luton picked up a 2-2 draw in the reverse fixture against Forest at the City Ground. The Reds took a 2-0 lead after 76 minutes thanks to two goals from Chris Wood on either side of halftime.

However, Forest couldn’t hold onto their two-goal cushion. Chiedozie Ogbene pulled a goal back for Luton in the 83rd minute. Elijah Adebayo scored the equaliser in the 91st minute.

Adebayo is unlikely to play against Forest due to an injury. Ogbene is in good form, having scored in midweek against Bournemouth.

Nuno Espirito Santo is rueing Forest’s poor finishing in recent matches. The Reds have not scored in over 180 minutes of football.

Nottingham Forest are one of the Premier League’s lowest-scoring teams. They tallied just 34 goals in 28 games this season. Meanwhile, the defence has allowed 50 goals to opponents.

Luton’s defence has been worse, conceding 59 times. The Hatters allowed 17 goals in the last six league matches.

Playing at Kenilworth Road should give Luton a boost for this relegation six-pointer. Eleven of Luton’s 21 points have come at home this term. However, just nine of Nottingham Forest’s 24 points have come on the road.

The Reds lost their last two away fixtures. Our score prediction is for Luton to take advantage of Forest’s poor away form. The Hatters should pick up a 1-0 win at home. The Hatters’ win will add further spice to the relegation soup.
