Toulouse and Lyon Desperate for Another 3 Points to Challenge for a Top Half Spot
2201

Ligue 1 action kicks off on Friday with Toulouse welcoming Lyon to Stadium TFC and Forebet is here to guide you through all the latest trends, data, mathematics and analysis to conclude our football predictions.

The analysis of Lyon games has changed throughout the season, as has their probability of winning.

In fact, just as early as November, the club were in the relegation zone and without any hopes at all of moving into the top half of the table.

Now, however, they are above Toulouse in the table, up into 10th, but still above the bottom three by only six points.

Relegation is, therefore, still a great possibility, but Lyon have been one of Ligue 1's in-form teams throughout the past two months.

Alexandre Lacazette and co. secured their ninth league win of the season last time out by defeating Lorient on the road thanks to a goal each from Nicolas Tagliafico and Mama Balde.

They did lose at home to Lens before that, but by beating Strasbourg in the quarter-finals of the French Cup, Lyon are also now into the semi-finals where a spot in the final is most definitely expected with them playing against Valenciennes.

Lyon beat Metz, Nice, Montpellier and rivals Marseille throughout February too, as Lacazette continued to prove his worth with three goals in that period, including the winner in the 1-0 victory over Marseille at home.

Now, only Kylian Mbappe and Jonathan David have more goals than Lacazette’s tally of 12 in the league.

Toulouse are just one place behind Lyon in the table here and they will come into this game with two fewer wins on the board and 10 losses too.

They even managed to lose to Le Havre last time out, but this did end a run of four games without a loss.

This saw Toulouse get a famous win away at Champions League hopefuls Monaco before beating Lille and Nice at home.

They also drew at home to Benfica in the Europa League, but after losing 2-1 in the first leg in Portugal, it does also mean they are out of Europe too.

Back in December, these two sides met in the midst of Lyon's struggles in the relegation zone. However, a sensational hat-trick from Lacazette handed Lyon a 3-0 win over Toulouse.

Now, Forebet predicts another victory for Lyon and for the game to once again see over 2.5 goals.
