Real Madrid will be looking to extend their lead at the summit of the La Liga standings when they travel to the Mestalla to take on Valencia on Saturday evening.

With 26 games in the books, Los Blancos find themselves six points clear of second-placed Girona and 29 points ahead of Los Ches.

Will Carlos Ancelotti’s men take another step towards regaining the title? Or could Valencia upset the odds? Keep reading to discover what Forebet’s algorithm predicts.

It’s fair to say that Valencia have experienced an inconsistent season up to now, as they have recorded 10 wins, six draws and nine losses in the league.

In addition to scoring 29 goals, Los Ches have conceded 29 goals. Only seven teams have scored fewer goals, while only six teams have conceded fewer.

Last weekend, Valencia were held to a goalless draw by relegation-threatened Sevilla, with the visitors registering a solitary shot at the Mestalla.

Still, trends show that Valencia have avoided defeat in each of their previous eight home league games, picking up five wins and three draws in the process.

Funnily enough, Real Madrid’s last game was also against Sevilla, with Luka Modric coming off the bench to make it 1-0 in the 81st minute.

That victory extended Los Blancos’ unbeaten streak to eight matches across all competitions, with a solitary defeat coming in their previous 30 outings.

Ancelotti’s side have lost just one of their 26 La Liga encounters this season, picking up 20 wins and one draw while conceding a measly 16 goals.

Given that five of Real Madrid’s previous six games have produced under 2.5 goals, Saturday’s clash will likely be a low-scoring affair.

Head-to-head: Real Madrid claimed a comprehensive 5-1 victory in the reverse fixture back in November, courtesy of braces of Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo.

Los Blancos have won five of their previous six La Liga meetings with Los Ches, who have conceded a whopping 15 goals along the way.

Team news: The hosts look set to be without injured trio Andre Almeida, Thierry Correia and Diego Lopez this weekend.

As for the visitors, David Alaba, Thibaut Courtois, Eder Militao and Joselu remain sidelined through injury, while Jude Bellingham is a doubt.

Regardless of Valencia’s impressive home record, Real Madrid are expected to flex their muscles and strengthen their title charge this weekend.

Forebet predicts that Real Madrid will score over 1.5 goals and keep a clean sheet on their way to dispatching Valencia at the Mestalla.
