On Sunday afternoon, the perennial French champions face a tricky test against the most in-form team in Ligue 1.

Paris Saint-Germain welcome Rennes to the Parc des Princes, with the visitors looking to secure their seventh consecutive league victory.

Sitting 13 points clear at the summit of the standings, PSG undoubtedly have the upper hand, but Les Rennais will be eager to spoil the party in the capital.

PSG secured an easy 2-0 victory over Nantes last time out, with Kylian Mbappe coming off the bench to score the second goal after confirming his summer departure from the club.

The champions have now won each of their last five matches across all competitions, with 10 victories coming in their previous 11 encounters.

Trends also show that PSG have not tasted defeat since November, racking up an 18-game unbeaten streak of 14 wins and four draws in the process.

PSG’s stats at the Parc des Princes are also hugely impressive, as Luis Enrique’s men have lost just one of their 17 home games this season, winning 12 of the last 14.

On Thursday, Benjamin Bourigeaud netted a hat-trick as Rennes defeated AC Milan 3-2 in the Europa League, but the Italian giants triumphed 5-3 on aggregate.

Les Rennais have now won 10 of their last 11 matches across all competitions, scoring over 2.5 goals in exactly half of those victories.

Following a poor run of six defeats in each Ligue 1 games between October and December, Rennes have turned things around to notch six straight league wins.

Having taken 10 points from a possible 12 across their past four away outings, Rennes will be confident of frustrating PSG in the capital.

Head-to-head: Not only have Rennes won two of their last three Ligue 1 meetings with PSG, but they have also won three of their previous five.

Across the past nine league encounters, PSG and Rennes have each claimed four wins, playing out a solitary draw along the way.

Team news: The hosts are currently without Presnel Kimpembe, Layvin Kurzawa, Nuno Mendes, Sergio Rico and Milan Skriniar due to injury.

As for the visitors, they will set to be without injured trio Enzo Le Fee, Mahamadou Nagida and Fabian Rieder for Sunday’s trip to Paris.

Although Rennes are enjoying an eye-catching hot streak at the moment, the champions are expected to flex their muscles on home soil.

Forebet’s AI algorithm predicts that Rennes will push PSG all the way on Sunday, but the hosts will likely score over 1.5 goals en route to victory.
