Everton and Crystal Palace to clash in Premier League six-point relegation battle
5907

Everton and Crystal Palace are both on a terrible run of form in the Premier League. Their round No. 25 match will be a relegation six-pointer. Which team will our algorithm score prediction favour in this battle at the bottom of the table?

Crystal Palace are in crisis. Manager Roy Hodgson was taken to hospital on Thursday during training and is undergoing tests.

Due to the circumstances, the club are set to replace Hodgson with former Europa League winning coach Oliver Glasner.

Glasner led Eintracht Frankfurt to the Europa League trophy in 2022. He won’t be in charge on Monday night, as Crystal Palace head to Merseyside to face fellow out-of-form team Everton.

The Toffees will start round No. 25 in 18th place. Sean Dyche watched his team fail to win their last seven Premier League matches, leading to their current position in the table.

Had Everton not been deducted 10 points earlier in the campaign, they would be 13th in the standings and nine points above the relegation zone.

Everton took three points from their last 18 points on offer. All three points came from draws. Dyche’s team failed to score in four of their last five Premier League games.

The goals and good vibes from earlier in the season are gone from Goodison Park.

The Toffees scored just 26 goals in their 24 games. The defence has kept them in games for the most part, conceding just 32 times.

Crystal Palace are five points ahead of Everton in the standings. They are coming off back-to-back losses to Brighton and Chelsea by a combined score of 7-2.

Palace have also struggled to score this season, tallying just 27 goals in 24 games. Defensively, Crystal Palace have also struggled. The team allowed 43 goals to opponents.

The Eagles have been poor on the road in recent games, losing their last three away from Selhurst Park. However, half of their 24 points have come on the road.

Dyche needs his attacking players to step up against Palace. Dominic Calvert-Lewin has scored just three times this season. Winger Jack Harrison has also tallied just three goals.

Palace have got more production from attacking players. Odsonne Edouard and Michael Olise, with six goals apiece. Palace’s issues haven’t necessarily been goals, rather it has been conceding them.

Monday’s game will be the fourth meeting between Everton and Palace this season in all competitions. Everton won their Premier League meeting 3-2 before drawing an FA Cup fixture nil-nil. The Toffees then won at Goodison, 1-0, in the replay.

Our algorithm predicts another Everton win over Crystal Palace. This Premier League prediction could see Everton leapfrog Luton and get out of the bottom three. It should be a close win for Everton, as we predict a score of 2-1.
