The Supercoppa Italiana semi-finals take place this week, with Inter Milan and Lazio facing off in the second showdown on Friday night.

Inter won the Coppa Italia last season, defeating Fiorentina in the final, while Lazio finished as Serie A runners-up behind Napoli.

The winner of Friday’s clash will play either Napoli or Fiorentina in Monday’s final, which will take place at Al-Awwal Park in Saudi Arabia.

Inter thrashed Monza 5-1 in their previous game, with Hakan Calhanoglu and Lautaro Martinez each bagging a brace in the rout.

As a result, Simone Inzaghi’s side find themselves at the summit of the Serie A table – 18 points clear of fifth-placed Lazio.

It is also worth noting that Inter have lost just one of their last 20 matches across all competitions, picking up 14 wins and five draws along the way.

Having lost only two of their 27 games this season, the Nerazzurri will be confident of dispatching Lazio and booking their place in the final.

Meanwhile, Lazio claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over Lecce last time out, courtesy of Felipe Anderson’s second-half strike.

That win means the Eagles head into Friday’s showdown on a five-game winning streak, having kept a clean sheet in three of those triumphs.

Like Inter, Lazio are in good form at the moment, as they have lost just two of their previous 11 matches across all competitions.

Funnily enough, the Eagles’ last defeat came against Inter Milan, with Inzaghi’s men claiming a 2-0 victory at the Stadio Olimpico last month.

Head-to-head: Not only have Inter won each of their last two meetings with Lazio, but they have also won three of their previous four.

When these two sides met in the Supercoppa Italiana back in 2009, Lazio secured the bragging rights with a 2-1 victory over Inter.

Team news: Inter Milan will be without Juan Cuadrado on Friday as the veteran Colombian winger continues to recover from an Achilles tendon injury.

As for Lazio, they are currently without Argentina forward Taty Castellanos, who missed the previous game due to injury.

Given that four of the past six meetings between Inter and Lazio have produced over 3.5 goals, Friday’s clash will likely be a high-scoring affair.

Accordingly, Forebet predicts that Inter Milan and Lazio will play out an eventful draw, with both teams netting over 1.5 goals.
