Following a goalless draw at Selhurst Park, Everton welcome Crystal Palace to Goodison Park for a reply of their FA Cup third-round clash on Wednesday.

Both sides created multiple goalscoring opportunities in the previous meeting, with Everton racking up 13 shots and Crystal Palace registering 11 attempts.

However, neither team managed to break the deadlock in London, while Toffees striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin was sent off in the 79th minute.

On Sunday, Everton managed to hold high-flying Aston Villa to a goalless draw in the Premier League, despite seeing just 31% possession.

The Villains chalked up 16 shots and also had a goal ruled out for offside, but the Toffees were able to weather the storm and pick up a precious point.

Still, there is no hiding the fact that Sean Dyche’s men have failed to win any of their last six matches across all competitions, suffering four losses before recording back-to-back draws.

That said, Everton have lost only two of their previous nine home games in normal time, securing a trio of 3-0 wins at Goodison Park in that time.

Crystal Palace were not in Premier League action at the weekend, meaning their last game was the goalless draw with Everton on January 4.

Thanks to a 3-1 victory over Brentford before the turn of the year, the Eagles carry a two-game unbeaten run into Wednesday’s replay.

It is worth noting, however, that Roy Hodgson’s men have managed to win just one of their previous 10 matches across all competitions, recording four draws and five losses.

Palace have also lost five of their last nine away outings, with their last victory on the road coming against Burnley back on November 4.

Head-to-head: Crystal Palace have failed to win any of their previous five meetings with Everton, recording two draws and three defeats during that period.

To make matters worse for the Eagles, they have only managed to win two of their last 20 matches against the Toffees across all competitions.

Team news: Everton’s Idrissa Gana Gueye is at the Africa Cup on Nations, while Ashley Young and Dele Alli remain on the treatment table.

Crystal Palace’s Jordan Ayew is also on AFCON duty, with Michael Olise, Sam Johnstone, Rob Holding, Joel Ward and Cheick Doucoure absent through injury.

If the first meeting is anything to go by, the replay will be a close-fought battle between two relatively evenly-matched teams.

Forebet predicts that Everton and Crystal Palace will play out another low-scoring draw in normal time, meaning the contest will likely go the distance.
