We have a mouthwatering Serie A clash to sink our teeth into on Friday night, as Juventus welcome Napoli to the Allianz Stadium.
Napoli secured the title last season but currently find themselves fifth in the table – 11 points behind first-placed Inter Milan – after 14 matches.
Having suffered a solitary defeat in the league this term, Juventus occupy second place in the standings and trail Inter by just two points.
Juventus claimed a last-gasp victory over Monza last time out, courtesy of a 94th-minute winner from centre-back Federico Gatti.
As a result, the Old Lady head into Friday’s clash on a nine-game unbeaten streak in the league, having picked up seven wins and two draws since their last loss.
When you look at the bigger picture, Max Allegri’s men have lost just three of their previous 26 Serie A matches at the Allianz Arena, underlining their resilience on home soil.
Boasting the second-best defensive record in the division this season, Juventus will be confident of picking up another positive result on Friday.
Napoli, meanwhile, suffered a 3-0 defeat to Inter Milan last weekend, despite racking up 58% possession and 15 shots on home soil.
The reigning champions have now lost two of their previous three Serie A games, enduring a 1-0 defeat to Empoli last weekend’s humiliation.
Across all competitions, Napoli have managed to win just two of their last seven outings, losing three of their previous four.
That said, Napoli can take confidence from the fact that they have avoided defeat in each of their last eight away games in Serie A.
Head-to-head: Napoli did the double over Juventus last season, thrashing the Old Lady 5-1 in Naples before winning 1-0 in Turin.
In fact, Juventus have only managed to win one of their previous seven league meetings with Napoli, suffering five defeats in the process.
Team news: Juventus are currently without Timothy Weah and Mattia De Sciglio due to injury, while Paul Pogba and Nicolo Fagioli are banned.
As for Napoli, their injury list contains Mathias Olivera, Mario Rui and Alessandro Zanoli, with the latter seeing just 30 minutes of Serie A action this term.
Although Napoli have dominated Juventus in recent seasons, the hosts undoubtedly have the upper hand this time around.
With that in mind, Forebet predicts that Juventus will get the better of Napoli on Friday, although both teams are expected to score.
