Lecce bidding to end nine-game winless streak at expense of Empoli

Empoli will be looking for a positive result to aid their push away from the Serie A relegation zone when Lecce visit the Stadio Carlo Castellani on Monday.
As we head into Matchday 15, Empoli find themselves one place and one point outside the bottom three with the worst offensive record in the division.
Although Lecce sit four places and five points ahead of Empoli, the visitors have failed to win any of their previous nine league games.

To make matters worse for Lecce, they have managed to win just one of their previous 13 away games in Serie A, underlining their struggles on the road.
Having drawn each of their last three matches – and five of their previous seven – Lecce will be desperate to return to winning ways.

Since 2004, Lecce have claimed a solitary victory in nine attempts against Empoli, recording four draws and four losses along the way.
Team news: Tommaso Baldanzi, Gabriele Guarino and Giuseppe Pezzella all missed Empoli’s previous game through injury.
Leece, on the other hand, look set to be without Mohamed Kaba on Monday, as the French midfielder has missed the past two matches due to injury.
Both sides will be eager to claim all three points at the Stadio Carlo Castellani, but they may have to settle for a share of the spoils.
