14th-Placed Real Oviedo Looking for 10 Unbeaten in a Row Against Eibar

Fourth takes on 14th during this international break over in the Segunda Division with Real Oviedo set to welcome Eibar to the Carlos Tartiere Stadium on Sunday afternoon in what is turning out to be one of the worst starts to a season for the home side for some time.
Down in 14th, Oviedo are only above the bottom three by six points and adrift of the top four by eight points too. This sees the club with four wins and four losses on the board and seven draws.
Oddly enough, despite the terrible run of form, the club still have the best defence in the Segunda Division after the league leaders Leganes, as the club come into this one with only eight goals conceded.
On the other hand, this excellent defensive record has been met with only 12 goals scored from the 15 outings so far, as they drew 1-1 with Cartagena on Monday after drawing 0-0 with Real Zaragoza the Monday before that.
Oviedo have also put together a solid run of form in the Copa del Rey, as they edged past Manresa in the first round with a brace from Francisco Mascarenhas - he scored after just three minutes and deep in extra time.
The last win for the home side heading into this Sunday clash comes back at the end of October where Jaime Seoane scored in the dying embers of the first half against Alcorcon before Victor Camarasa scored in the 90th minute of the game.
This does also mean Oviedo are on an unbeaten run of nine games, despite sitting down in 14th. On the other hand, they have drawn with Leganes, Amorebieta, Zaragoza and Cartagena during this period, hence their below-par points tally.
However, manager Luis Miguel Carrión will be pleased with recent form regardless, given how the club failed to win any of their first seven games before defeating Eldense 3-1 at the start of October.
As for Eibar, they are up in fourth and head into this game only adrift of Sporting Gijon in second and Real Valladolid in third by one point. The club have also managed to lose five games, however, scoring 20 goals and letting in 17.
With nine wins on the board, however, only the league leaders have more. Last time out, Eibar drew 1-1 with Albacete after also drawing 2-2 with Espanyol and beating Lorca Deportiva in the first round of the Copa del Rey.
