The final clash of the Premier League weekend sees Chelsea welcome Manchester City to Stamford Bridge in Sunday’s late kick-off.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men thrashed Tottenham Hotspur 4-1 last time out, while Man City crushed Bournemouth 6-1 in their previous league outing.

As a result, Man City find themselves atop the Premier League table – one point clear of Spurs and 12 points above 10th-placed Chelsea.

Can the Blues close the gap this weekend? Chelsea were involved in one of the craziest games in recent Premier League history on Monday, with Pochettino’s side claiming a 4-1 victory over Tottenham.

Remarkably, the match involved countless VAR checks, multiple disallowed goals, two red cards for Spurs and a hat-trick for Blues striker Nicolas Jackson.

Following a poor start to the season, Chelsea have turned things around in recent weeks, suffering a solitary defeat in their last seven games across all competitions.

Having won three of their previous five league outings – scoring 12 goals in the process – Pochettino’s side appear to be heading in the right direction.

That said, Chelsea’s momentum is under threat as in-form Man City prepare to visit Stamford Bridge on the back of a 3-0 victory over Young Boys on Tuesday.

Pep Guardiola’s men have now won each of their last five clashes across all competitions, scoring 17 goals while conceding just three.

When you look at the bigger picture, the Cityzens have won 14 of their previous 17 games, enjoying success in both the Premier League and Champions League.

Boasting the best offensive record (28) and the best defensive record (8) in England’s top flight, Man City are on course for yet another title.

Head-to-head: Chelsea have not enjoyed much success against Man City in recent times, with Guardiola’s side winning each of the past six meetings.

Not only have Man City claimed six straight victories over the Blues, but they have also kept six successive clean sheets, scoring 10 goals in that sequence.

Team news: Chelsea’s injury list has shortened, but Pochettino is still without Wesley Fofana, Ben Chilwell, Romeo Lavia, Christopher Nkunku and Trevoh Chalobah.

On the flip side, Man City look set to be without the injured quartet of John Stones, Manuel Akanji, Sergio Gomez and Kevin De Bruyne this weekend.

Regardless of Chelsea’s recent upturn in form, Man City are expected to flex their muscles and claim all three points at the Stamford Bridge.

Forebet predicts that Man City will secure a seventh straight victory over Chelsea while keeping a seventh successive clean sheet in the process.
