Aston Villa will be looking to extend their unbeaten streak in the Premier League to seven matches when they face Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Sunday.
Thanks to a run of five victories in six outings, Unai Emery’s side occupy fifth place in the table – four points shy of first-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
At the opposite end of the standings, Nottingham Forest find themselves 16 – five points outside the relegation zone and 12 points behind Villa.
The Tricky Trees head into Matchday 11 on the back of a 3-0 defeat to Liverpool, with the visitors managing a solitary attempt on target at Anfield.
As a result, Steve Cooper’s side have failed to win any of their previous six Premier League clashes, recording four draws and two losses along the way.
When you look at the bigger picture, Nottingham Forest have managed to win just two of their 10 league encounters this term.
Still, Forest can take confidence from the fact that they have lost only two of their previous 19 home league games, underlining their strength at the City Ground.
Aston Villa, meanwhile, secured a 3-1 victory over Luton Town last time out, racking up 71% possession and 17 shots in the process.
The Villains have now won five of their previous six Premier League matches, scoring over 2.5 goals on four occasions in that sequence.
Better still, Unai Emery’s men have picked up seven victories across their past nine league outings, scoring over 2.5 goals on six occasions.
Boasting the joint-best offensive record in the division, Aston Villa will be hopeful of piling more pressure on Steve Cooper and his players.
Head-to-head: Aston Villa avoided defeat against Forest last season, drawing 1-1 at the City Ground before winning 2-0 at Villa Park.
To make matters worse for the Tricky Trees, they have managed to win just one of their previous eight meetings with Villa across all competitions.
Team news: Nottingham Forest’s injury list contains Callum Hudson-Odoi, Felipe, Divock Origi, Chris Wood, Danilo and Gonzalo Montiel.
Aston Villa also have a number of injury absentees, with Emi Buendia, Tyrone Mings, Alex Moreno and Jacob Ramsey expected to miss Sunday’s showdown.
Regardless of Forest’s impressive home record, in-form Aston Villa look set to make light work of Steve Cooper’s side.
Forebet predicts that high-scoring Aston Villa will net over 2.5 goals on their way to dispatching Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
