Norway will host Spain on Sunday in Euro 2024 qualifying Group A. The teams are chasing Scotland in Group A in a very competitive Euro 2024 qualifying group.
Sunday’s clash in Oslo will be the second meeting between the two national teams in Group A. Spain won the reverse fixture 3-0 in Malaga.
Dani Olmo opened the scoring in the 13th minute and the match remained close until Joselu scored in the 84th minute to double Spain’s lead. Joselu scored again on 85 minutes to give Spain the 3-0 victory.
Norway manager Ståle Solbakken is hoping his team can upset the Spaniards and improve their chances of qualifying for the Euro finals from the group stage.
Spain have already qualified for the Euros playoffs thanks to their UEFA Nations League performance. They will make the playoffs at the very least.
Despite qualifying for the playoffs already, manager Luis de la Fuente won’t want to take his chances on a two-legged tie.

Norway have played three times at home in Euro 2024 qualifying. They won two of their three home matches in Euro qualifying. Their only defeat at home was against Scotland in the opening match of Group A qualifying.
Spain have played one fewer match in qualifying compared to the rest of Group A. La Roja lost 2-0 to Scotland in Glasgow before defeating Georgia 7-1 away.
Norway defender Fredrik André Bjørkan will miss the match due to an injury. Solbakken will have striker Erling Haaland to call upon for the match. Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard will play in midfield and wear the captain’s armband.
Spain are captained by Alvaro Morata. The Atletico Madrid player has 33 career international goals in 66 matches. It is a strong return for a player that is often criticised by fans and the media.
The majority of De la Fuente’s team are domestic-based. There were call-ups for Ansu Fati, Fabian Ruiz, and David Raya. Raya will be in line to start in goal although De la Fuente may start Athletic Bilbao’s Unai Simon.
Spain picked up a 3-0 win over Norway in the reverse fixture. De la Fuente will be positive La Roja can post another win over Norway.
