Lecce will be aiming for a swift return to the win column this weekend when it meets with Sassuolo on Friday night at the Stadio Ettore Giardiniero off the back of losing two in a row for the first time this season in what has been a magical start for them.
In a campaign where many predicted Lecce to fight relegation and potentially head back into Serie B, the club are coming into this game up in seventh and having experienced their best start to a Serie A season this century.
In recent games, however, the club have lost 4-0 at home to the champions Napoli and also head into this one with an away loss to Juventus a few days before that where Mohamed Kaba was sent off - he now misses this game.
Worse yet, Lecce had just two shots against Juventus and none on target, and just one hit the target against Napoli too.
Nevertheless, the club have still put together a fantastic run against the odds this season, winning three games and drawing the other two, while also edging past Como in the Coppa Italia first round.
The wins in Serie A have seen Lecce stun Lazio at home, as Pontus Almqvist scored an equaliser before Federico Di Francesco netted just two minutes later with the club scoring twice in the final few minutes of the game.
Salernitana have also fallen to a defeat at the hands of Lecce, as Roberto D'Aversa's men ran out 2-0 winners with a goal after six minutes from Nikola Krstovic and a finish in the 98th minute from the penalty spot from Gabriel Strefezza.
Genoa were the other side to lose to D'Aversa's side, thanks to a goal in the second half from Remi Oudin.
As for Sassuolo, they head into this one off the back of two sensational wins which put them as arguably the most in-form side in Serie A during this period.
Stunningly, they managed to beat Juventus 4-2 at the Mapei Stadium, as Andrea Pinamonto, Domenico Berardi and Armand Lauriente all scored a goal each.
The Black and Green then went on to stun Inter Milan at the San Siro, as Nedim Bajrami and Berardi scored a goal each in a comeback win to make it two wins from the past three games at the San Siro for them.
However, Forebet predicts a win for Lecce and for the game to see over 2.5 goals.
