Saturday’s early Premier League kick-off sees struggling Luton Town entertain high-flying Tottenham Hotspur at Kenilworth Road.
After avoiding defeat in each of their opening seven matches, Tottenham find themselves second in the table – one point shy of leaders Manchester City.
Meanwhile, Luton sit 17th in the standings – 13 points behind Spurs – having managed to win just one of their first seven Premier League encounters.
Luton Town picked up their first-ever Premier League victory last weekend, claiming a 2-1 win against Everton at Goodison Park.
However, the Hatters were brought back down to earth on Tuesday, as they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Burnley, despite racking up 18 shots on home soil.
Luton have now recorded one win, one draw and five losses since gaining promotion to the Premier League, suggesting the Rob Edwards’ side will struggle this term.
On top of that, only three teams have scored fewer goals than Luton this season, while only the bottom three clubs have conceded more goals.
By contrast, Tottenham Hotspur have made a flying start to the season under Ange Postecoglou, winning five and drawing two of their seven league outings.
After drawing with Brentford on the opening weekend, Spurs notched four consecutive victories before drawing with arch-rivals Arsenal.
Last time out, Tottenham claimed a controversial 2-1 victory over Liverpool, with the officials wrongly chalking off a goal for Luis Diaz, despite the Reds forward being onside.
That said, Spurs won’t be bothered about last weekend’s officiating error, as they remain unbeaten after seven games and have kept pace with Man City up to now.
Head-to-head: Luton and Tottenham last faced each other back in 1992, playing out a goalless draw at Kenilworth Road.
Although the Hatters have failed to win any of their previous nine games against Spurs, the two sides have not met in more than three decades.
Team news: Luton will be without the injured quartet of Jordan Clark, Dan Potts, Gabriel Osho and Albert Sambi Lokonga this weekend.
Tottenham, on the other hand, will be without Ivan Perisic, Ryan Sessegnon, Rodrigo Bentancur, Bryan Gil and Giovani Lo Celso, while Brennan Johnson is a doubt.
With 13 points separating the two sides after seven matches, Tottenham head into Saturday’s showdown as overwhelming favourites.
Forebet predicts that Tottenham Hotspur will extend their unbeaten run with a low-scoring victory over Luton Town, who will struggle to find the back of the net this weekend.
